Well...

The music
The scoring system
The difficulty
The graphics (or look of the blocks)

And I think there are no sfx.. and the colour of the blocks are all the same.
..but I could be wrong.

No one mentioned Super Dodge Ball. That's a fun game.

Mighty Final Fight, Gun-Nac, Battletoads and Battletoads Double Dragon are also some of my favorites.

i love tengen tetris(have it complete :!: ) the best part about tengen ttetris was 2 player! and a good ole racer was rad racer damn that game was hard i could always make it to the last track anyways theres tons more but most of the ones i can think of u guys already talked about

I think they're talking mostly original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES aka Famicom) but its the thought that counts.

Dont know if anybody has already one over these games but a few of my favs are:

--Batman
--Rush n' Attack
--Contra
--Metal Gear
--Mega Man 2
--Castlevania 3

to name a few
