what kind of connection do you have?

do you have a server to upload them to or anything?

if anything, when you get a bunch made you can always burn them on a CD and send them to me.

I have cable with up capped at 30k.

For a server do you mean like an ftp? I can always jsut set up an ftp.

I have 2 120gb hds too() so i could keep a bunch.

I guess that would work too but jsut sending them to ya would be easier.

that's cool

I know of a couple programs that we could just to an easy transfer.

I'm on a T1 during the day (work), so I have no speed problems.

Lemme know if you have any preferences.

PM me for more details

as soon as i get the motivation to do it, i'll get on it. I recently got my AV cable for Saturn so it'll look alot crisper.

This is minor, but doesn't "video game game play video archive" sound a bit redundant? hehe it was hard to say it as i read it the first time

About the Video's-

1. What resolutions do you want the videos to be

2. what compression/format do you want used

3. how long do you want each clip

4. do you want in-game shots, or cutscenes?

1)I'd like the resolution to be the best you can do (within reason).

2) I don't want a lot of compression. Ideally I'd like MJPEG or Huffy codec or maybe just MPEG2 (that's the DVD format right?). I want as lossless as possible without having increadibly huge files.

3) I'd like them to be about 3-6 minutes or so for each game. Try to edit them a little bit to get a few minute-long clips of different, but interesting scenes. Then I can have some different stuff to play with.

4) I'm looking for primarily gameplay footage. But a short clip of the title screen would be nice too. Cutscenes would usually run too long. If there is a cool shorter one that is part of the game, that's fine.

any new progress?

there may be a delay in getting my new computer -- my wife's college bill this semester is gonna be huge -- it's a private college

Hopefully I can order the parts in September

for anyone that's interested, I've put up a small (so far) message board to discuss things releated to the project.

Disccussion in SX is still encouraged though.

If you want to sign up for recording a game or games, check out the checklist posts and lemme know what ones you would like to do

check it out here...

I'm about to get a new, fast computer... though I'll have to look for a video capture card or something similar as well. But I'd be very happy to help, and contribute gameplay from my Saturn and Dreamcast collection

In fact, nobody's mentioned the DC yet, would that be OK to make captures of as well, Iceman?

I'm dreaming of a very cool "best-of" video clip from my favorite racing game, VANISHING POINT...

MWUHAHAHA :devil

you got your computer now, right?

any capture card?
