Now i may be wrong, but 666 isnt the mark of the beast, isn't it 999? I think that it is refered to as 666 in liturgical contexts beacuse people dont actually want to say 999.

I thought 666 was the numerical translation of a name, spoken of in the Book of Revelations. Could be wrong, though.

 Yeah. I've never heard of that numerology thing before, but it's not that consistent - on the one hand you have things like '7th Heaven', which makes sense in this context, but OTOH you have the Seraphim, who are the highest angels and have six wings IIRC.
