You sure? I've never heard of this. Microsoft's website has a patch for AMD computers faster than 350MHz that corrects a software problem with a timing loop, but that patch is for Windows 95 setups, not 98 ...

I've heard of people using 98SE on very fast AMD Athlon machines without problems...

I have an AMD 1800+ with XP.

I have noticed slow down after downloading the MSN "hot fix" patches. I want to return my system to the fast way it was before the downloads. The downloads appear in my Add/Remove program box.

Is there any danger in unistalling them. I want my system back to the way it was, but I am worried about ruining the whole thing by not having the proper files...

What would you do?
