1.- Download the Saturn emulator GiriGiri version 0.8.2a Beta.
2.- select the Emu Tools tab, click on convert ISO+WAVE to CUE+BIN, choose the ISO image (trck2.iso)
3.- After conversion, trck2.bin file will appear in same the folder, now delete the ISO.
4.- As I said before, open CUE with notepad, now you will see that the first line mentions FILE "trck2.bin" BINARY, previously it was, FILE "trck2.iso" BINARY, if it is not like that modify it yourself, finally just change all the lines that mention WAVE to BYNARY (ejem: FILE "track02.wav" WAVE" to "FILE "track02.wav" BINARY), save it, add the game folder to your SD card, turn on your Sega Saturn and thanks to VBT again for this gem.
5.- Enjoy.

By the way, I use the latest version of Saroo.

Unfortunately, the Mega CD soundtrack has an issue — the music for the cinematic intro is playing at the wrong speed as opposed to the Amiga original (most likely being captured in 60hz instead of the 50hz of the original). Would it be possible to restore the cinematic intro music to its original glory? It’s more impactful at its original speed.

All the other music in the game was captured at the correct 50hz PAL playback speed, so it was quite jarring to hear that the cinematic opening was playing way too fast.

Here’s how it should sound, from the Amiga original:

This was captured digitally from a MiSTer FPGA with the proper Paula PWM implementation, and a 50% stereo mix to avoid having the total stereo separation (2 channels in left speaker, 2 channels in right speaker). This is playing at the correct speed. Also take a listen to the menu music and see if it sounds better to you, it might be a good idea to re-capture all of the music and jingles in the game from the Amiga with a 50% stereo mix, I assume the Sega CD version wasn’t necessarily done with the utmost care.

YouTube version for convenience:

(I cut it down to just the intro part you need, so if you want to check out the menu music for comparison with the Sega CD version, use the YouTube link above)

Listening to it now, I absolutely think we should use the menu music from the Amiga too, the Sega CD version is just a short loop, sounds terrible, and misses out on the cool percussion and ambiance of the original Amiga version. Check out the YouTube video to hear the difference (or the WAV posted below).

Also, I noticed that the cinematic intro on the Sega CD version is longer, and awkwardly repeats the crash sound on the end three times and doesn’t make a lot of sense in how it does it. I could probably make a custom sequence of the song in the original ProTracker format that the song was written in on Amiga that would extend the theme in a more natural way, and end with the single crash like the original. I’d have to experiment with the timing, but it should be possible to at least get it to be a lot better than the current Sega CD version.

Here’s the menu music, trimmed in WAV format, recorded on the same setup (50% stereo mix, Paula PWM audio):

Headphones recommended!

The original was not MIDI, hence why I recommended we use this.
