Ok i got the player today , I hooked it up to my laptop on turned on hyper-terminal , but the player wants to hear a dial tone before it attempts to dial out , anybody know how to make a computer emulate the dial tone sound ?

You could try to figure out a way to play a dial-tone sample to the player (possibly by setting up a three-way connection). There is hardware that can do this (line emulators etc.) but they can cost quite a bit.

Also, if it wants a modem connection you have to set up your computer's modem to answer without a ring signal, like shown in the guide on how to connect a Dreamcast to a PC.

I meant a three-way connection done with extension cords, not a three-way call. The PC-DC page was located at http://www.consolevision.com/mterlouw/... but the site seems to be undergoing some redesign and I don't know if or when it'll be back. An older version can be found here..., but it covers Win98 only.

The site is almost done being renovated, but all the hosted sites now have that "/members/" directory in front of them now.
